Cloud log in web address "ap-southeast-1.manager.io"

Hi all

I used to log in with www.[my name].manager.io

Then i started to get security warnings:
Not found
www.[my name].manager.io
The requested site was not found. If you have entered the address manually, please check your spelling and try again.

However, I did manage to log in (using a ‘saved address’) but I noticed the web address required to find the log in page is now

www.[my name].ap-southeast-1.manger.io

Any idea why its changed and whats the “ap-southeast-1.”?

Yes. Both links point to the same location. eu-west-1 is data center in Ireland which means your data is hosted there but Manager Cloud runs in many regions and there is a closer one to you (otherwise you wouldn’t see eu-west-1). In upcoming days, there is going to be ability to transfer your data between data centers so you can transfer to the data center which is closest to you. This will greatly improve your speed.

The ability to transfer between regions is available now. Have a look at https://cloud.manager.io There is new “Speed Test” button. This will determine whether you are getting the best speed and if not, you will be able to transfer data to new region.

But does that mean I have to always use that in the address?

For branding its not that attractive.

I suggest you do what Lubos recommends in his second post above and see if it behaves as he described in his first post above.

Thanks @Patch - I did the speed test and ap-southeast-1 is in Singapore (so much closer for me based in Thailand) so that all makes sense.

Just that the address is not so slick as before if i need to include that in the link to prospective customers.

And the original www.myname.manager.io - no longer workds for me (get the security warnings - also not good for branding)

Or will the upcoming changes Lubos refers to change that?

There is no www
