I’m using version Manager 17.12.13 Desktop edition on Linux Mint 18.2 Cinnamon 64-bit. I have installed the Helvetica Neue typeface as recommended and all screens are displaying properly except the Bank Transactions/Payment Screen where it appears that the amount in the Amount column on the far right is truncated.
Can anyone point to a discussion on this or provide a solution? Picture below. Thanks!
This has nothing to do with Manager. It’s a function of your operating system and fonts used on it. If you’ll notice, your font characters are much rounder and wider than the illustration below of a similar entry:
I believe Manager looks for Helvetica Neue as its default font. (I’m not positive about this, and fonts in this general visual category are hard to tell apart.) Whatever it likes, if not found, something else will be chosen. Your font looks similar, but not identical. Your text also looks smeared, especially the bold characters, as though you didn’t have a bold font installed so your operating system created one from a bitmap or something.
Many thanks, Tut. Please excuse my attempt at humour.
Although I consider Manager ‘cutting edge’ software, I realise that the way the screen is displayed is a function of my operating system and fonts used on it. Your observation,
Text also looks smeared, especially the bold characters, as though you didn’t have a bold font installed so your operating system created one from a bitmap or something
led me to download and install the Helvetica Neue Bold font this morning. I only had the regular version of Helvetica Neue installed previously.
After restarting Manager, I’m pleased to report that the problem is now resolved and I recommend anyone who notices display issues with fonts in Manager ensures they have downloaded and installed both Helvetica Neue and Helvetica Neue Bold fonts within their operating system.
