I like to suggest to keep timer to auto logout after the screen is idle, or not activity, (say 5 min).

I don’t agree. In case you can lock your computer with timer.

I think it is a very useful security control, especially where many users are involved. It is too hard to incorporate in the system?
You can use the screen lock available with your operating system - Window, iOS

Screen lock is for preventing other people looking to your screen, what i mean is the make the program is not online to protect from hackers.
The desktop edition is never online and there is no login or logout. Server edition security is your own responsibility. Cloud security is handled by the host, including through your login credentials. Which edition are you using?
