The Linux desktop edition v24.1.19.1287 requires an internet connection to run

Hi Support,

Please find attached a screenshot for your reference:

I downloaded the latest and only Linux version available on your download page from: GitHub - Manager-io/Manager: Accounting software. Available for Windows, Mac and Linux., labiled as: Manager.appImage v24.1.19.1287.

Unfortunately, while using Tails OS (Linux), the app cannot access the internet without compromising my operating system’s security.

Would you kindly email me a fixed install or desktop version that doesn’t require an internet connection?
Thank you

kind regards

Nicolaas

You should probably have referred to the system recommendations/requirements information, at for example :-
https://www.manager.io/download
“Requires Ubuntu 18.10 (64-bit) / Fedora 33 (64-bit) or newer”

That being said, Tails can run Appimages. Typically, all you should need to do is set any relevant folders for persistent storage, and make sure that the Appimage’s permissions are set to be executable.
You do not need a network or internet connection to run Manager, but it will require to use the loopback (typically “lo” on a Linux system), which is not anything to do with your system’s security.

Hi xero50,

Regarding Manager.io on Tails OS, its seems to be a system requirement issue, like you suggested.

I installed Manager.io on Windows, and noted that it required WebView2 (or something like that) to run. But now everything works great!

I also started to use Windows Sandbox feature instead of Tails.

Thank you.

Best,

Nicolaas
