In the history button, Create and Update actions show the reference numbers of the related documents in the description column, Delete actions do not. You can however see the reference number if you click on the view button.
I believe all document reference numbers must be exposed in the description column to enable users to use the search box to find all events (delete, create, update) related to a particular document in one place.
