We have a supplier that send us products on consignment, which mean we will pay them what we have sold. Then we decided we didn’t want to do the products anymore and return all the unsellable products back to the supplier. Is there a form for this type of Return to Vendor?
No. From an accounting perspective, goods on consignment are not yours and have no impact on your financial records. They must be separately tracked, not accounted for as inventory. Often, a spreadsheet is easiest. So, when you send goods back, you can just send them. There are no accounting transactions to perform.
Search the forum for “consignment.” There were extensive discussions of this topic several years ago. The question has not come up recently.
