subject:Request Reconsider API Access Manager Desktop Edition
Dear Manager Team,
I hope this message finds you well. I would like to take a moment to express my appreciation for the valuable accounting solutions that Manager provides. Your desktop edition has been a crucial tool for many of us who rely on its features for efficient financial management.
I am writing to request a reconsideration of the decision to discontinue the use of free APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) in the desktop edition of Manager. I understand the need for the company to evolve and adapt to changing requirements, but this change has posed a significant challenge for users like myself, particularly concerning tax compliance with the Egyptian Tax Authority.
Due to this modification, it has become nearly impossible to integrate Manager with the Egyptian Tax Authority’s systems. As tax regulations continue to evolve, having this ability is of paramount importance for businesses operating in Egypt. The free APIs played a crucial role in facilitating this integration, enabling users to meet their tax obligations effectively.
While I appreciate the introduction of the online version of Manager, it may not always be a feasible solution for all users, especially for those with specific business requirements or operating in areas with limited internet connectivity. For users like myself, the desktop edition remains the preferred choice, and we are in need of a method to link Manager with the tax authorities.
I kindly request that you reconsider allowing the use of free APIs for the desktop edition, even if under certain conditions or limitations. This would provide users like me with a viable solution to address tax compliance concerns while continuing to benefit from the robust capabilities of Manager’s desktop edition.
I believe this adjustment would further enhance the software’s reputation and expand its user base. Your continued commitment to meeting the evolving needs of your users would undoubtedly strengthen the Manager community.
Thank you for your time and consideration, and I look forward to any developments regarding this matter.
That is not specific to Egypt and is I believe is being addressed elsewhere
Given that limitation and the desire for Internet connectivity, paying for someone to maintain the local server version may better address your desired operating mode.
That’s great to hear! I’d be happy and honored to assist you in connecting your software with the Egyptian electronic invoice. I’m a C# programmer, and I’ve successfully linked QuickBooks with the Egyptian e-invoice and other programs. I’m ready to provide any help you need in this matter.
You’ve shared the links with all the necessary data for integration with the Egyptian electronic invoice from the government’s website:
Yes sort of in the same boat we we live our internet service drops off with out warning and is not 100% reliable. Yes could go star link but very expensive. So desktop becomes the stable way to use manager with out down time. and using a server is not an option
So if you want the Desktop version to do all the server and cloud versions do, and you want NG Software to be viable so the software continues to be available, you are requesting the desktop version becomes a paid offering.
Not sure I agree with your marketing insight.
Very sweeping statement Patch not like you at all
No we are not saying that, there is lots of things desktop can not do. This statement is not conducive to the question.
Technical difficulty to use: have you actually tried it. It takes about 5 minutes to copy the server folder to your computer, double click in the server program in that folder, then open a web browser http://localhost:8085 or http://127.0.0.1:8085
Cost: you use Manager as part of your profession. Have you considered the cost to your business should Manager no longer be financial viable and new versions stopped happening. I own a server licence yet only use multi-user access for about 1 hour a year. Imo I can’t see how it makes sense for you not to own a server version, but that’s just my opinion.
Thanks for the correction. I guessed the port number as the server installation instructions appear no longer accessible and I was not near my Manager server.
