Removal of raw materia before finished goods

Hi friends,

Late last year, I set up Manager Cloud for a manufacturing company, recently i received a call from them that the physical conversion of raw material to finished goods takes time, they are asking if possible to remove raw material from system (manager) once it has been taken physically so that there system stock and physical stock will be balance and once the raw material is completly converted to finished goods it will also be posted to the system.

According to them, reason for this is:

  1. They want their physical stock to always be balance with manager report interm of available raw materials
  2. Sometimes, raw materials taken will be used for two or three finished goods, and they find it hard to be sharing the raw material used for the final production of the two to three finished goods

Please any solution to this issue

You obviously can not reduce your inventory of raw materials without adding the value of the used raw materials somewhere else in your inventory items

If you do not want to increase your inventory of finished items at this time then you need to create one or more Work in Progress items to act as intermediary storage

You would have to test how this will work, in particular to check on how the costs are transferred

This has already been discussed, and I think it’s on the developers’ radar. However, when it will be implemented is something only @lubos can comment on.
