I want to give someone read only access to one of the businesses in my Cloud edition so he can’t mess up my data. I have set him up as restricted user but I have to give him full access or he cannot see anything, but that has defeated my intention.
I took a look at Manager.io but this is not helpful at all and it’s nothing different from what I have done.
I also took a look at Create users but I don’t see any of the functions mentioned.
How do I set him up to read only?
The terminology used in Manager for “read only” is “View”. You must assign View permission for everything you want the user to see. The Guide you linked to is illustrated quite thoroughly.
Depending on what you are trying to acheive you could give him access to a computer running Manager desktop with a back up of your data loaded.
That user can then experiment all they like and your data will not be changed on your cloud system.
I have finally figured out where the VIEW function is.
Is there any way I can apply the whole business to read only with one click rather than individual areas?
