Manger is a continuous accounting system.
At the end of each financial period consider “Close an accounting period” and “Set reporting period” in the old guides https://www2.manager.io/manager.pdf
Most entities such as inventory items and customers have an option to be marked as “Inactive” in their edit form. It doesn’t remove them from Manager, but it does move them to the end of their lists and prevents them from appearing in selection fields.
Is there a way where i can start a new financial year? I know i can set a new business every year, but is it possible to start every year new. because when i put attachements like invoices i get from my suppliers in the program, the program becomes like xxx GB over the years.
So is it possible to start a complete new year every year? I know it you can start a new year and business, but all the open posts and f.e. cars you have in lease are not taken in a new year so you have to put them in manualy. Is there a way where the end of a period is imported in a new period (year).
You can use Manager by starting a new business each year. Doing so will not be efficient as Manager is not designed to be used that way.
So what problem do you encounter when you use Manager as a continuous accounting system (other than that’s not how your prior accounting system worked)?
You mentioned data base size. What problem does that cause you (as it’s not a problem for the software)?
If you want to decrease program size you can save it without attachments and use that for later years. The option to save selectively was discussed so maybe available in the future.
