Purchase invoices before certain date don't show in expense accounts

My purchase invoices Prior to 04/2014 do not show in the expense account , even though they are selected to specific expense account. Those after 04/2014 are shown. I Check these in settings - Accounts charts.
I have gone to the older invoices, selected the account i want it listed in, updated. But this makes no difference. Would appreciate the help.

What’s your start date? Go to Settings tab, click Start Date and set it to when you decided to switch on Manager from your previous accounting system.

Any invoices entered with issue date before start date will be part of your opening balances.

Thank you so much. Date must have changed When i installed the update.
Will remember to check that in the future.
