I want to transfer cash from my bank a/c to my petty cash account. I have transferred a sum via Inter Account Transfer. No figure is reflected on the Summary page, under Assets, where you see the Petty Cash header with no figure. When you click on that, the page shows as Empty. When I open the Bank and Cash Account tab, I can see the Petty Cash total there. When I then click on View for Petty Cash, I get a breakdown of the transactions. See screenshots. should the summary page show the petty cash balance?
I am not sure if you made the petty cash account a control account, same for the bank one. Please show the edit screens of each.
I don’t know how to determine if these are control accounts. In settings, Control accounts is greyed out
You first need to create the control accounts in settings. They will become active (note greyed out) once you created one for Bank and one for Cash.
Then in the edit screen of the Bank and Cash accounts you already created you can now assign the Bank control account to Bank and the Cash control account to cash.
