Open Source - Server Edition

If I purchased the server edition, would it be open source and I could alter my version and connect POS and have custom reports?

It’s not open source but new API is coming very soon so you will be able to integrate with other systems.

Thanks for your response, how soon can we expect this to happen? because that’s my deal breaker for using the system.
