Need to raise credit note without sales invoice reference

Need to raise a credit note without a sales invoice reference, it is taking automatically. Is there any way I can create a credit note without a sales invoice reference?

You view the sales invoice then click on Copy to > Credit Note. This note is connected to the invoice you have selected. But if you un check the sales invoice it will reflect to the customer ledger. But will not connect to any invoice.
