Hi everyone,
I’m currently planning to switch from a local software to Manager for managing multiple companies as an accountant providing services to multiple clients. As I’m transitioning, I have a few questions and would appreciate any advice from the community:
Has anyone used Manager.io to manage multiple businesses, especially from an accountant’s perspective? Are there any limitations or things I should be aware of before making the switch?
Is it possible to clone or import customizations like the chart of accounts (COA) and tax settings across different businesses (as I will need to setup multiple companies)? Are business templates the right way to do this, and if so, how do I use them for this purpose?
Is it possible to add Kosovo as a location in Manager? If so, I’d be happy to provide all the necessary details to help create a Kosovo-specific template.
I’m managing multiple businesses using Manager. If you’re done with setting up one company, you can just save a backup and then import it again into the software. it’s like the cloning process.
Manager seems to me to be ideal for providing services to multiple companies because you do not pay per business, even for the Cloud Edition. If you don’t need to use Manager from more than one computer, then you can even use Manager for free.
But in general, I would recommend the Cloud Edition because:
You are always using the latest edition.
Backups are automatic.
You might want to use Manger from multiple client sites. While you can run desktop Manager on your laptop, your laptop would necessarily have limited space.
You could still start off with the desktop version of Manager. Switching between desktop and cloud is easy enough because you backup from one system and restore to the target system whether desktop or cloud.
