Issues with New Custom Fields

I am using v25.3.26.2194 and am trying to update my custom fields from the (obsolete) Classic Custom Fields to the new shared custom fields implementation. I am experiencing the following issues with that:

  1. Custom Fields for Suppliers (see screenshot below) are not displayed on Purchase Invoices.


    The Classic Custom Fields display as expected, but the new ones do not.

  2. Custom Fields for Business Details aren’t displayed anywhere. I don’t see the content of these custom fields appear on purchase invoices, sales invoices, etc.

  3. Custom Fields for Business Details seem broken when editing them.

 

The above happens both when I use the Upgrade button for a classic field as well as when I create a new custom field.

And before you ask, yes, the “Show custom field on printed documents” is checked.

I also tested with a custom theme and it seems that these new custom fields are not added to the custom_fields liquid object.

It seems that for now the Classic Custom Fields are still more robust than the new implementation.

Am I missing something here? your tabs clearly going into the Settings → Custom Fields → Text Custome Fields which is an obsolete feature. What Shared Custome Fileds are you referring to?

If that is the obsolete feature, then what is the “Classic Custom Fields” feature under Settings >> Obsolete Features (see screenshot)?

Are both the Custom Fields implementation obsolete?

I certainly dont see both of those options in the desktop version. There is an upgrade option to convert your obsolete custom fields

Thank you for taking the time to teply. It could well be that the obsolete feature is only visible if it is in use, but I didn’t test that.

I did mention the update route in my original post:

The problem is, if I update the obsolete field to a new field, they disappear from my purchase invoices. The new field implementation doesn’t work as well as the classic one did. I’m trying to report what I think is a bug.

Can you get custom fields for suppliers to appear on a purchasing invoice? Or do you also see the same issue that I’m having.
