Well, no luck, I have deleted all the windows fonts on this machine and re-added goods ones from another one(where manager works), same error, so now we can eliminate the font question…it is something else…still looking…
[edit]
Print to PDF works when I print with an external software…at least something can export my invoices as PDF which sorts out the error…will keep working this way until there is an update from your side that perhaps solves this issue in the future.
My question was not about your OS language but your Manager language preference. Manager currently has no English (UK) option, only English (US). If you still have English (UK) available, you are dealing with a very old version that predates many of the internal PDF changes. In other words, you aren’t dealing with the version you said you were.
Yes, I had read that. But your other statements were ambiguous enough I wanted to confirm. You would not have been the first person to download a new version but fail to install it. I’m glad to hear you did that correctly. It leaves you only with the problem that, for some reason, the PDF generator is not handling your forms correctly.
you have mentioned you are not using any custom theme which is clear from the empty theme tab shown in your screenshot… but do you by any chance have used any html codes in any fields?
another option would be to make a backup of your business and restore your system to a previous date when the pdf was actually working.
Good point, this could have caused a problem but no, I have not added any html, the software is really as it was when I first installed it, No customization in any way.
The restore options won’t be ideal because I do my accounts every 3 months and from one backup to the next, there are too many entries, if I reverse to the last backup, I will lose 3 months of data.
It is ok, I will keep generating the PDFs externally, at least there is an option for it. No worry, if this is not happening to other users, don’t waste time on me:-) as long as I can keep going with another method, that’s the most important.
Tut, no worry at all, as I explained to Sharpdrivetek, if this is only happening to me as a user, better not waste time on my case. I will update you if by any chance the problem is solved in the future updates. As long as I can generate the PDF externally, there is no problem. I won’t use the PDF and email feature for now.
I have a separate problem on windows 10 and wonder if both are linked together. I contacted windows support but no good help was offered.
When I search something in the search bar(cortana), all the apps that are installed via the store are clickable, but all the software installed via the old exe/msi packages are not clickable. I have to keep going in each individual folders to find a clickable icon.
I tried an sfc /scannow and DISM repairs, no difference. I have also removed the frameworks and reinstalled them(3 and 4.5, 4.6 no difference. Downloaded registry checkers and all possible gadgets, the problem is still there. From what I have read online, some people have experienced this since the last update from Windows, could it be that manager is having an issue that is linked to this update?
I am not using special characters in any of my fields, as this was my first idea of a bug due to my PHP background and special characters escaping.
I am not nearly as techy as Benoit, but I have just upgraded to the latest version (validated by checking the version number) and use no custom themes nor special fonts, but get the following message when using email…
Apitron.PDF.Kit.ErrorHandling.DocumentSaveException: Apitron.PDF.Kit.ErrorHandling.DocumentSaveException: Exception of type ‘Apitron.PDF.Kit.ErrorHandling.DocumentSaveException’ was thrown.
at Apitron.PDF.Kit.FlowDocument.Write(Stream outputStream, ResourceManager resourceManager, PageBoundary boundary, PdfStandard pdfStandard)
at ManagerServer.PdfConverter.ConvertHtmlToPdf(String input, Stream output, PageBoundary pageBoundary)
at ManagerServer.HttpHandlers.Businesses.Business.Email.Post()
which also points to the Apitron PDF software.
and the following when clicking PDF:
I too can ‘Print’ as PDF using Microsoft PDF printer, so I have a way to get my invoices out but it needs resolving in the app.
I experienced the same error message, but discovered that an apostrophe I had in a line item was causing the issue, removing that solved the issue, I also discovered that a hyphen can also create the same problem. Its something to do with the character coding and some characters being non-standard. All a bit too technical for me!
While it has been mentioned elsewhere on the forum previously, it is worth repeating: anything copied and pasted from word processing or spreadsheet documents probably has invisible embedded characters that can cause problem, too.
