Investment Starting Balance in Foreign Currency Calculation error

my base currency is Singapore Dollar (SGD), I have foreign currency USD and exchange rate set to 1 SGD = 0.74 USD.
i have a test investment in USD with Starting Balance USD 1000, so on summary screen> Asset> Investment should show 1000/0.74 =1351 but it showed $740 so the calculation is not correct.
see below screen shot

I didn’t realize if foreign currency was selected starting balance would behave like that.

My intention is that Starting Balance is always set in base currency (not in foreign currency).

So this is now rectified in the latest version (23.12.6)

thank you for the rectification. it could be better the Starting Balance be in foreign currency which like bank account in foreign currency.

I was thinking about it previously but it just makes things more complicated for little to no gain in functionality.

When the value of your investment in base currency increases, it’s unrealized gain. It doesn’t matter whether it’s due to investment itself going up or due to foreign currency appreciating.
