Inventory split - approved process

When I set up Manager, I created an inventory item of “£1.50 Sweets” which we sell. Now I’ve learnt more about how we operate, I want to split this into a number of items to give me better control - eg “Boxes of Chocolates”, “Chocolate Bars” and “Crisps”.

Obviously when I buy new stock I can allocate it correctly, but is there a recommended way of moving existing inventory from one classification to another ? Or is it best to simply go back to the original purchase and do it there ?

enable and use Production Orders.
but you can allocate to only one inventory at a time.
