Inventory Quantity Movement by Location Report

I would like to suggest the addition of an Inventory Quantity Movement by Location Report, or alternatively, an enhancement to the existing Inventory Quantity by Location report to include movement analysis for a selected period.

The primary objective is to provide users with a detailed summary of inventory movements within a specific location or branch over a reporting period. Such a report would complement the existing inventory reports by providing a clearer picture of how inventory quantities changed over time at each location, rather than simply showing balances at a particular date.

The report can show the following columns to explain movements.

Use Case

This report would allow users to:

  • Analyze inventory movement by branch, warehouse, production site, or location.
  • Reconcile opening and closing balances through documented inventory movements.
  • Monitor inventory consumption at production sites.
  • Identify locations with excessive write-offs or adjustments.
  • Compare inventory activity between locations.
  • Determine which items are moving fastest or slowest at a particular branch or warehouse.
  • Investigate stock variances without having to drill into multiple transaction reports.
  • Support stock-taking and inventory control procedures.
