There is edge case where this could happen. In the latest version (25.1.6), the program will ensure if Qty owned is zero, then Total cost will be also zero. Otherwise it will be a function: Total cost = Qty Owned multiplied by Unit cost

Why not make recalculate button start calculating from the start and make a unit price entry for every in and out of each item?
