India

all report transformations must adhere to official tools provided by the government and not any third-party tools which makes a user dependent on the third-party. this has been a long standing policy of Manager to implement features based only on official sources.

Is this possible to Add T-Shaped Balance Sheet and P&L Account Specially for Indian Users

@lubos would it be possible to create tables and add filters to individual tables in a report transformation?
say I want to show the Sales and Income section as a table based on certain parameters taking the original post here as an example.
this would help in our situation where every report is divided into sections based on different parameters. with the current implementation we will have to create seperate reports for each table.

Let’s do that first. Once we have working reports, I will have better idea what direction report transformations must evolve to amalgamate them.

okay we will do that.

will it be possible to mention the total tax rate for a multiple rate tax code?
for example, CGST 6% + SGST 6% is still GST 12% for the authorities and the reports require the tax slab to be fetched which in this case is 12%.
i can see that the Rate column shows zero for a multiple rate tax code. maybe we can utilize the same field to enter the total tax rate without it affecting the transactions in case it is a multiple rate tax code.

Mention where? Can you show screenshots for the context?

something similar to below.

here the Rate entered beside Type will not have any effect on the tax calculations but just a variable linked to the tax code which can be fetched in report transformations.

I sitll don’t understand the point. Manager already knows 6+6=12. You don’t have to enter that.

It would be better if you show screenshot why do you actually need it.

screenshot is from a spreadsheet tool. it is the same for all reports.
here the Rate is the tax slab of government irrespective of how it is divided between the centre and state (it is 50-50 technically).
so in reports we will have to fetch the tax slab rate.
if there is already some method to get the total tax 12% (i.e. 6 + 6) that will be enough.

I think it’s premature to think about this if report transformations can’t even enumerate through individual invoices which is what’s needed first.

Are there any county-specific reports related to tax codes in India which should be done and don’t require showing individual invoices?

yes. below is the link to a report which needs to be filed monthly. i think the columns and rows would be self-explanatory.

By the look of it, you need to be able to get figures per tax code component. Is that correct?

In that case this is kind of wrong as far as custom field goes.

It’s like you need custom field per tax component rather than for the entire tax code.

exactly the reason I requested it. maybe you missed it.

OK, there is not much that can be done now to progress Indian localization. I will need to make improvements at my end first.

Yes tax code components are to be disclosed on the VAT return form in my country too.

@sharpdrivetek there is now new concept called Tax Reporting Category under Settings tab.

You should create tax reporting categories such as

  • CGST
  • UTGST
    etc.

Then assign tax reporting category to each tax code (in case of multi-rate tax codes, to each rate)

Then tax reporting categories are available in dropdown under Report Transformations.

This will allow you to create Indian country-specific tax report reporting figures on individual tax reporting categories.

Do not use custom field on tax codes anymore. Such a custom field should be deleted.

thank you. i will check and give feedback.

@lubos can the limit on number of columns be removed as a priority please.
without the limits i am hoping to try creating reports where data from individual invoices are not required.

@lubos i have created a simple report transformation just to check few things.

  1. i cannot generate the net sales. it just shows zero. this is the taxable value per tax component to be displayed as a total of all applicable tax components.

  2. we need to split credit notes and sales invoice separately rather than collectively considering them as sales. applicable for debit notes and purchase invoices too. for reporting purpose a credit note is an inflow while the debit note is an outflow.

  1. I think we need tax reporting category on tax code level too (not just tax component level). I’ve added tax reporting category field on tax code level now. I don’t like this implementation though. I think it might be getting overly too complicated.

  2. I think we should just have separate tax codes for Outward and Inward. Think this idea that Manager can automatically detect whether transaction is a sale or purchase is not universal approach. Then within tax code, we could specify what transaction types tax code can be applicable to limit number of choices.
