Hello, i have a few businesses in cloud edition. How can i do an automatic backup to google drive, or my VPS?
there’s no built‑in way in Manager Cloud to automatically push backups to Google Drive or your own VPS. Manager Cloud is automatically backed up on the provider side, but external, scheduled exports aren’t supported. You can still make manual backups anytime.
Hi I understand the response on the automatic Cloud backup to be arranged on the server.
But additionally for the desktop it would be great to add a setting, auto backup every xx period, eg xx days, xx weeks, always including date stamp with see parameter to set maximum backups. to xx
Cheers
Paul
Hello @Syed_Salman_Ali How can i do backups of multiple businesses at the same time? instead of one business at a time
In Manager Cloud Edition, there is no built-in way to automatically back up data to Google Drive or your VPS. The cloud provider automatically backs up your data on their side, but scheduled external exports are not supported.
For multiple businesses, you currently must create manual backups for each business individually; there is no feature to back up all businesses at once.
If automation is important, the only option is to use Manager Desktop, which allows you to schedule automatic local backups with date stamps and a limit on the number of saved backups. This, however, does not apply to the cloud edition.
Manager doesn’t have a “backup all businesses at once” button. How you do multi-business backups depends on your edition:
If you use Desktop edition
-
Back up the whole application data folder. That folder contains a separate .manager file for every business, so copying it gives you one backup covering all businesses at once. The Businesses guide explains where the application data folder is and that you can move it.
-
Optional: click Change Folder and point Manager to a cloud‑synced folder (OneDrive/Dropbox/iCloud). Then your entire set of businesses is continuously backed up by the sync app.
If you use Cloud edition -
Cloud has automatic backups handled by Manager. You can still download a backup per business from the portal, but there isn’t a one‑click bulk download for all businesses.
If you use Server edition (I have no expertise in it)
- Use your server/VM backup to back up the Manager application data directory (same idea as Desktop: backing up the folder covers all businesses). The Businesses guide notes data is stored in the application data folder and can be relocated if needed (handy if you want it on a volume your backup system already protects).
Notes and limitations
- The Backup button in Manager is per business; it’s meant for ad‑hoc/manual backups of one business at a time. (manager.io)
- Automated or scheduled emailing of backups from Manager itself isn’t supported. If you need scheduling, use your OS/server backup tools or a cloud‑sync workflow. (forum.manager.io)
- Some users have asked for bulk/auto-backup features for multiple businesses; that isn’t available as of now.
Thanks @Syed_Salman_Ali
I think a backup button to back up all businesses in the cloud edition of manager is important. @lubos
Maybe limited to one backup per day to avoid misuse.
Or at least a backup menu that lets us access our daily backups and download them.
