I’m facing several probelm exporting the “general ledger transactions” in excel. First of all not all the voices are put in the correct column. The result is that we have a completely messed up list.
Secondly I suggest that the dates should not be saved in the same column of the description but in a different column.

Can you illustrate exactly what you mean with screen shots?
Can you post the corresponding screen shot from the report itself so we can see how it is displayed there?
Your problem is that Return characters in your description field are being interpreted as tabs when the TSV file is created for export. This displaces cell content that follows to incorrect columns on the spreadsheet. This happens because Manager interprets field content as HTML code. So it shows correctly in Manager, but not in the resulting spreadsheet.
Try using <br> tags in your description rather than Return. The finished invoice should look the same. I’m not sure what the effect on the export will be.
I think it is and should be classified as a bug. I cannot change all the past invoices and ask our administrative accountants to put
inside any future invoices.
I’m asking you to help identify the source of the problem so it can be fixed. I am not telling you to live with it. The more information we can provide, the sooner any problem can be fixed.

It will only be classified as a bug when the exact behavior can be illustrated, reproduced, and understood and is not as intended. I don’t have your records, so I can’t illustrate it.

I don’t think he is going to look into it until it is in the bugs category. And we’re still waiting on your contribution by clearly showing the problem. If the problem can be shown to be traceable to HTML interpretation issues, that’s one sort of bug. But if not, there will be some other kind.
General ledger report won’t export properly into columns. It’s not a bug. It’s “as designed”. This report should actually not exist as it can get ridiculously long and it’s not meaningful to print it.
Unfortunately, before I can remove this report from the program, I need to add different way to view general ledger. I have some ideas but I didn’t implement it yet. The new way will allow proper exporting and more.
