From Desktop Edition to Cloud Help Please

Good afternoon

I started Manager IO on a Desktop Version to get familiar with it, I have already input some inventory with very long part numbers. My associate decided to purchase the Cloud Edition creating multiple users, how can I import my information from the Desktop to the Cloud Version? I do not want to start over.

create a backup of your business from your Desktop edition and import it to your Cloud edition.

Read the Guide: Backup, restore, import, and transfer businesses | Manager. It explains how to transfer a business.

Thank you thank you, the first part worked, I was able to import back up into my cloud version but it did not put the information where necessary, it only shows my back up underneath my business name.

Your meaning is not clear. Do you mean when you imported the business the name included the backup date? If so, use the Rename link just to the right. If you mean something else, provide more details.

ok I would like all the information ex: all my inventory with part numbers, assets, etc…imported from my desktop version to my cloud version. I was able to back up and import the back up but when I click on my business name, nothing has changed, there is no part number or inventory or assets. Under my business there is a box with my back up, that’s it.

Then you didn’t do something correctly. When you back up a business, the backup file includes absolutely all information that has been entered: inventory, customers, receipts, attachments, etc.

What do you mean by “nothing has changed?” Changed from what? And what do you mean by “there is a box with my back up?” Can you post a screen shot?

I started working on Manager on Desktop version, my associate decided to purchase the cloud version so he created the same company under another account instead of buying the cloud version from my desktop version but all the necessary information is on the desktop version. Yes I am happy to send a screenshot

Thank you Tut

OK. Easy to fix. From Manager’s perspective, these are two different and unrelated businesses. Neither one is actually related to your cloud account. They both represent accounting files that are being accessed by the program. Open and look at both of them to see what they contain. The one to save is the one containing your most recent work. Use the Remove Business button to remove the other one. Then use the Rename link beside the name of the one you are keeping (while the business is open) to give it the name you want to use going forward. Also see this Guide about renaming: Name or rename a business | Manager.

Unfortunately, if you have split work between the two businesses, there is no way to combine them. However, you may be able to move some data from one to the other using batch operations. See this Guide: Use Batch Create and Batch Update functions | Manager. You would need to start with the business containing the data, copy to a spreadsheet, then switch to the other business and use the spreadsheet to update its data.

Ok I thought so, thank you so much.
