I’ve noticed a bug with the Profit and Loss Statement on the summary view. ‘Show balances for a specified period’ seems to produce inaccurate display values for expenses, when editing the summary view. However, if I click on said value, it shows the correct expenses for the selected period.
To illustrate this, I’ll use the example where the value for everything for the account ‘education’ from the end of the period, stretching back into previous years is shown $34616.80, and when clicking that total I get the filtered and correct total of $2484 up to 13/01/2026.
I have no issues with the income view or my profit and loss reports. It just seems like whatever display variable for the summary view, is not retrieving the total for the selected time period. It would be good if the summary view presented the same data the profit and loss report does for a set time period.
@Joe91 I’ve blocked out figures which are irrelevant and not able to be published publicly. I’m more than happy to show the developer via email mismatches between the profit and loss report and the summary view profit and loss.
Happy to provide further data to the right party if required. I have been involved in my own fair share of programming and debugging, so I’ve done my best to describe the issue clearly. There’s another recent post describing similar issues with P&L report and P&L summary not matching up, which contradicts the statement that I’m the only one experiencing this issue.
Here’s a clearer visual, with the same data. The P&L figures in the expense area are unconstrained by the period selected. Why this is happening, I don’t understand as the P&L report and clicking through to the transaction shows the correct figures. It really appears to be a bug, even if not everyone can replicate it.
@Domenico if desktop edition, is this happening even after closing and reopening the app? On cloud edition, is it still happening after restarting cloud server?
@lubos It’s the desktop edition. It seems to have fixed itself—I’ve reopened Manager IO some hours later and the summary view is now presenting the correct values, in line with the P&L report for the same period. I had opened and closed the app quite a few times prior to this.
