I get this message when I try to Print, PDF or email invoices or other documents.
I use ver 16.12.31 on MAX OS
This problem has been reported by several Mac users, but is difficult to reproduce. Here are some things that have helped:

Update your software and see if the problem persists. Just prior to your version, major changes were made to PDF generation, which could be involved in all the situations you mentioned. Most of the known problems were fixed.

When emailing, make absolutely sure of the email address. One user found that an incorrect address caused this error.

Make sure you do not have any unusual characters. A fix is being worked on that corrects this problems. It might, for example, be caused by unusual symbols in a language for an uncommon currency symbol. Along these lines, if you are using a custom theme, try using the built-in themes and see if that fixes the problem.
