Hello,
Thank you for your reply.I understand that I am left on my own and there is no force.
Did you try to simulate the same ?
Please try installing Microsoft server edition 2008 standard edition and you may see that it is impossible to track the database file.
If you have a business name listed when opening Manger, like shown above, then in doing a “.manager” search you should see some results looking like the files below, but they will be amongst some other 200+ search responses.
Thanks Brucanna,
I downloaded a 3rd party search software and managed to find the Database path on Windows server 2008.
C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Manager.
Please guide me how do I change the path to some other location.
Just for @sharpdrivetek information, I installed the server edition on Windows 10 and it still saves the database file to C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Manager.
Guys, please don’t suggest to go to the preferences and change the path or while creating New Business, there is an option to select the destination folder.
NONE works.
I believe the path of the installation depends on what user you set up manager service to run as. The above path is the ‘system’ user. Change the user, and the path will change. Not sure if that is a smart thing to do though.
Sorry, never played with a server so I can’t assist, but re-looking at posts #5, #7 & #8 may help, but it appears (to my amateur eye) that you may have two data paths:
1 - C:\users*****\AppData\Local\Manager\ for the file 00000000000000000.manager.
2 - C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Manager\ for the business file.
How that gets resolved you may need to talk to a local computer technician - but at least you know where the file is now. Also note, there should be another file in one of those location called “data”,
which contains a stored data path, if you double click on it and open it with Notebook you get
If that file is editable or not is well beyond my computer skills. If it is editable then files will need to be copied to any saved new location. Once again a local computer technician will know.
Surprised that you needed 3rd party software to do a search of C:\ for “.manager”.
Also, to expect another forum user to download/install software they don’t require to just test for your difficulties is a bit to much to ask.
