Custom field answer on the same line

using desktop version 24.5.7.1519.
I have custom fields showing on the bottom of the invoice, is there anyway I can get the answer to the right of the question, on the same line.
For example if i use “date of birth” then it allows the answer on the line below, is there anyway I can have the answer on the same line
for example
Date of birth 07.05.2024

Use Footers. This will allow you to create custom footer and inject custom fields anywhere within the footer. So you can make your custom fields more compact when displaying on invoice.

Thanks for the information, I notice in your article “Footers can contain either static text or dynamic content using merge tags. When editing the footer, you’ll see a list of available merge tags to use.”
I am wanting to use the footer for drop down boxes as well as fill in boxes, for example I am wanting to put in “Date of Birth” and have a box to the right of it to allow for the inclusion of various dates. Also for a drop down box I was wanting to have “Family Subscription” with a box for a tick.
I cannot see how or where I can include custom fields other than using the Merge tags. I tried to place custom fields in form defaults in Northwind Traders, but it would not accept custom fields, only text fields, like “how to pay the invoice”
Would appreciate your assistance.
