Cash Flow Budgets

Hi,

I would like to create a budget on a quarterly basis that I can update bi-weekly. the PnL Actual vs Budget system seems good enough for that, especially since it directly interacts with my Accounting.

The Data I get from this has a pretty limited use though, as my estimated net profit doesn’t include liabilities have to pay and investments I already committed to in the current period.

Am I missing something here? what´s the best way to get a full picture instead of the “half” picture with this current report?

regards
Thomas

Hi Thomas,

Currently, Manager only provides budgeting for Profit and Loss. and the total balance of liabilities and investments are by definition not part of your Profit and Loss.

However, I do understand what you are looking for: Cash Flow budgeting – which I think is a good idea since we already have cash flow statements, so why not.

I think that’s a very useful feature for a good portion of the users and that’s why I placed this under ideas.

thanks for the fast response!

I´m going to use the footer of the PnL Balance to account for those changes but having that (hopefully easy) additon to the cashflow statement would make my planning a lot more relevant to reality

Just in case anyone is wondering on how to solve this simple and stupid, I´m now using the PnL Budget and in the footer I noted the amount of money needed for none PnL accounts (mainly liabilities & investments). I took those from the cashflow statement

While I hope for the cashflow budgeting to be implemented, this workaround gives me an headsup at least about how much of my net profit is probably going to be needed for none PnL activities.
