I have just set up manager and tried putting in the opening bank balance as a “starting balance” in settings. I then deleted this entry and tried journaling it in as at 31/03/26. Both methods give the correct amount on the balance sheet ($13,935.41) but then the Bank Reconciliation shows “closing balance as per balance sheet” as at 31/03/26 as $0, which is totally different to the actual balance sheet!! I didn’t bother entering the statement balance as yet. I’m just trying to solve this issue first.
Can we see the cash account in Bank and Cash Accounts and also the journal entry?
Thanks for getting back so promptly Abeiku. In the mean time I found the answer. I hadn’t set up a control account called cheque account, I had only set the cheque account up as a balance sheet account via chart of accounts. Then when I set up the cheque account through Bank and Cash Accounts I had assigned it to the default control account. All sorted out now!
