Hello,
Some companies have a lot of currencies and exchange rates in their document flow. Often, documents in the program are registered after filling out the directory of exchange rates, and basically many documents are registered by copying an old document. At the same time, when copying (the rate remains filled in with the old value), and the field with the rate has to be cleared every time so that it pulls up the desired rate from the Directory of exchange rates.
Clearing the currency exchange rate field when copying may not be convenient for everyone. Therefore, this would not be good advice.
Then some possibility of additional checking of exchange rates in transactions would not hurt here.
There is such a possibility if we fall into the Currency Directory and then into the list of Transactions.
It will be visible there if the exchange rate differs from the one set in the Directory of exchange rates.
But the problem is that you need to watch every day separately.
Is it possible to reset the date or set the period and see all transactions for the period at once?
Maybe you can make some simple report based on the ExchangeRateTransactions?
Please tell me if it is possible to set up so that the exchange rate field of documents (purchase, sales invoice and others) is cleared when copying.
The fact is that when copying a document, the Issue date and Reference change (leaving other data unchanged) and have to manually clear this exchange rate field so that it is updates automatically when saving from the Exchange Rates directory (Settings >> Currencies >> Exchange Rates).
Often this step (clearing the Exchange rate field) is overlooked, and there is no mechanism to verify the correctness of the applied exchange rate.
Alternatively, set up a small separate “Exchange Rate Transactions” report so that can see the discrepancy between the exchange rate set up in document AND the exchange rate set up in Exchange Rates directory (Settings >> Currencies >> Exchange Rates).
Thank you in advance,
It will be an invaluable help.
For this described situation, any verification method available will be useful!
As an option, the one that you suggested.
Alternatively, (only if it does not require additional development efforts) expand the window below so that you can view transactions for all dates (or a selected period) at once and, if necessary, perform a batch update for selected lines there.
The advantage in this option is that the description of the transaction is immediately visible and you can make an additional Selection from the list.
But I repeat - any possible option will be invaluable!!! including the one you suggested.
