The latest version (24.8.30) adds support for Financial Data Exchange (FDX)
FDX is international standard which Manager will use to faciliate bank feeds. Bank feeds allow Manager to connect directly to banks or data aggregators so new transactions can be downloaded automatically (instead of manual importing)
To add financial institution, go to Bank Feed Providers
under Settings
tab.
Here you can add bank feed provider (that is a bank or data aggregator) which supports FDX standard.
Once you add bank feed provider, go to Bank and Cash Accounts
tab and click on the bank account you wish to connect.
You will see new button Connect to Bank Feed Provider
. Follow the steps until your bank account is connected so it looks something like this.
Now that our bank account is connected to bank feed provider, under Bank and Cash Accounts
tab at the bottom, there will be new button named Check for New Transactions
.
Clicking the button will automatically connect to bank feed provider for each connected bank account and retrieve the latest transactions.
Free Bank Feeds for Australian businesses
If you are in Australia, you can setup free bank feeds for Manager.io today. In the latest version, you should have automatically bank feed provider preconfigured so you can just go to View
bank account you wish to connect and click Connect to Bank Feed Provider
.
If you don’t see the button, go to Settings
, then click Bank Feed Providers
and create new one as per the following screenshot:
https://basiq.manager.io is FDX-compatible bank feed provider run by Manager.io. It’s available at no cost, this means even users on free desktop edition can set up free bank feeds. I believe this is the first time it’s possible in Australia.
I will be exploring how to do the same in more countries in near future.
