Added support for bank Financial Data Exchange (FDX)

The latest version (24.8.30) adds support for Financial Data Exchange (FDX)

FDX is international standard which Manager will use to faciliate bank feeds. Bank feeds allow Manager to connect directly to banks or data aggregators so new transactions can be downloaded automatically (instead of manual importing)

To add financial institution, go to Bank Feed Providers under Settings tab.

Here you can add bank feed provider (that is a bank or data aggregator) which supports FDX standard.

Once you add bank feed provider, go to Bank and Cash Accounts tab and click on the bank account you wish to connect.

You will see new button Connect to Bank Feed Provider. Follow the steps until your bank account is connected so it looks something like this.

Now that our bank account is connected to bank feed provider, under Bank and Cash Accounts tab at the bottom, there will be new button named Check for New Transactions.

Clicking the button will automatically connect to bank feed provider for each connected bank account and retrieve the latest transactions.

Free Bank Feeds for Australian businesses

If you are in Australia, you can setup free bank feeds for Manager.io today. In the latest version, you should have automatically bank feed provider preconfigured so you can just go to View bank account you wish to connect and click Connect to Bank Feed Provider.

If you don’t see the button, go to Settings, then click Bank Feed Providers and create new one as per the following screenshot:

https://basiq.manager.io is FDX-compatible bank feed provider run by Manager.io. It’s available at no cost, this means even users on free desktop edition can set up free bank feeds. I believe this is the first time it’s possible in Australia.

I will be exploring how to do the same in more countries in near future.

@lubos … Two questions … a) What is the url to correct or change details already loaded in https://basiq.manager.io account setup? b) Can the phone number field be altered to international format so that those of us that have a New Zealand operation and Australian operation/bank account can get our https://basiq.manager.io account verified?
Thanks in advance for your feed back.

can this be done for indian banks too? what are the steps please

With the help of @lubos I was able to put a New Zealand formatted cell phone number into the setup, receive the SMS code, connect to a New Zealand bank account (ANZ actually) and download the transactions. Did the same with our Westpac Australia bank account also … works great.

What were the phone number formatting tips?

When setting up the first step for New Zealand phone number I entered +64xxxxxxxxx. Did not needed an AU number as once you go to go to step 2 you need to receive a SMS to access FDX and then once there you just choose your bank and follow the prompts.

Thank You. I will try this version.

@lubos I have successfully connected 2 bank accounts and have gone back to connect more, however, I’m faced with 2 different error messages. How do I fix this?

First error: k5gmly542r3ad4eqgpizfscf3e0aofdt.lambda-url.ap-southeast-2.on.aws: Handler not found

Second error: image attached

Thank you.

Same error Here:

Sorry about that. Should be fixed now.

Thank you Aldo, Got a few more steps ahead, but can not get the SMS code.

I was able to connect my bank accounts a few days ago, and it was successful in downloading transactions once on that initial occasion, but it has downloaded nothing since then. I’ve disconnected, then reconnected the accounts, re-logged in, but no luck. No error messages. (Currently on 24.9.2.1834.)

This is really a good move. Hope this is available for all of us soon

This is a high on demand feature! Please don’t forget to add South-African banks too. @lubos

@timbo178 this was a bug when it stopped working after a day. In the latest version (24.9.9) connect your bank accounts one more time and it will continue working.

I’ve tried linking this to my 2 accounts (different financial institutes) but when I go through the link and enter all my credentials to link the accounts it only brings up personal accounts and not the business accounts. I’ve spoken with the banks and they have advised that this is a basiq.io issue and not a bank issue.

has anyone else had this problem?

@mbooth did your bank confirm your bank accounts are enabled for CDR sharing? If they are enabled for CDR sharing, why can’t you select them when on your internet banking site? Basiq.io would not know why something is not showing on your internet banking website. Only your bank would know.

Try to reach out to your bank again. If you have no success with frontline staff that might not be properly trained, you can reach out to CDR team within the bank. Contact details are here:

thank you. I kept pushing for an answer as I felt this would be a bank problem but they just kept saying it wasn’t.
I’ll try again tomorrow.
