Add multiple Quotations to an Invoice

Is it possible to add multiple quotations to one invoice?

Hello @thomasiaticus,

Unfortunately, that’s not possible at the moment since quotes and sales are linked 1-to-1.

However, there’s been an idea floating around for merging of Quotes/Orders. This will enable users to merge multiple Quotes and then copy the merged Quote to an Invoice. But that’s still not implemented.

I’ve been thinking about this, and I don’t really think merging multiple quotes into one invoice is the best approach. Assuming you’re buying the same item but in different flavors or colors, and you create quotes at different times, the prices can end up changing. If we merge them, it can get confusing, since the same item is priced differently. I think it’s better to keep them as separate invoices, so each price is clear. Then, the customer statement can still show the full picture of what’s owed, without losing that price context.

Thanks for the reply @Ealfardan. That would actually be a good solution.

In our case, we often do have several quotes to a customer who then places one order. This currently leaves certain quotes active even though they have resulted in an order (and thus invoice). Merging them would allow us to combine them under an invoice and change the status to “Accepted”. Since we use the status as a tracking tool, having them “Active” while they actually already resulted in an order is rather inconvenient.

I’d be happy to see your suggestion, which might be useful to other users as well, implemented.
