A few questions about paying for and using Manager

does this program have back up storage? need to see customer address , phone number, place to put notes, invoice age. will it show the age of the invoice to know if they are delinquent? or will we get a prompt letting us know the age? is the website secure

That depends on what you mean by “backup storage.” If you use the cloud edition, everything is backed up. If you use the server or desktop editions, you are responsible for your own data backup. Regardless of which edition, you can make a backup file of a business. See this Guide: https://www.manager.io/guides/8890.

All these are visible in relevant tabs. Read about them in the Guides: https://www.manager.io/guides.

Invoice status is shown in the Invoices tab. There is also an Aged Receivables report.

Again, that depends on what you mean. Secure against what? And what web site are you referring to? The cloud hosting web site? The downloads web site? The forum?

Meaning like who has access to what is put in on the desktop or cloud version? and as long as you use the desktop version there is never any charges for the use of this service? I thank you for all your informative information trying to get this setup for my company.

The desktop edition is for single users. There is no access control. If you have access to the machine, you have access to every single aspect of the program, all transactions, etc. The only security would be a password you put on the machine itself. With the cloud edition, you can have as many users as you want in remote locations and assign detailed permissions. See Manager Cloud.

okay, so a business would have to use the cloud addition ? which there is a charge for? which is a monthly fee correct? in which this cloud it backs it up automatically? thanks for all your help and time answering my question.

No, a business does not have to use the cloud edition. It can use any of the three editions, depending on its needs. For your other questions, see Cloud Edition | Manager

Desktop Edition → single user, no automatic updates, no automatic backups
Server Edition → multi-user, no automatic updates, no automatic backups
Cloud Edition → multi-user, automatic updates, automatic “backups”

As a business it would be a poor decision to rely exclusively on the cloud “backups”. Yes, the data on the “cloud” is being archived/snapshotted/whatever (as in: someone has configured the computer system to do this for you, with the desktop/server edition you need to do this setup yourself). A good practice would be to ‘export’ the data from the “cloud” version on a regular basis, this would be in line with industry best practices (two backups, onsite and offsite. In this case the ‘cloud’ version is ‘offsite’ but downloading your data to your own computer/backup service (dropbox, backblaze, onedrive, a usb stick you keep in a fire proof safe) makes the ‘on site’ backup.

So the choice is up to you based on your business needs.

Remember: you can switch between versions. You can start on the desktop edition, move to the cloud edition and then switch to the server edition by exporting/importing your business.

And what are the different prices?

Go to the application’s home page and navigate to what you want from there. https://www.manager.io/. There are pricing links for server and cloud editions. Desktop is free.
