I am very new to Manager and in evaluation stage in order to decide whether to go with it ?
My questions;
Can we have a chart of accounts having 4 levels / groups
Example
1.1 Fixed assets By default in Manager
1.2 Vehicles (Control account, not for entry at this level)
1.3 Owned (Control account, not for entry at this level)
1.4 Detail activity account for recording transaction
1.3 Leased (Control account, not for entry at this level)
1.4 Detailed activity account for recording transaction
Need: According to level of users i want summary (control level) and detailed reports. Higher management only needs to know totals for vehicles, next down level needs the breakup for vehicles (owned and leased) and then the record keeper needs very details of vehicles (last level, activity accounts)
Is it possible to get totals at group levels / control accounts?
Can we customize the dash board as per our own preferences?
I am sorry, if i am asking questions being asked before.

Yes you can have unlimited levels. And yes, very recently the reporting has introduced a filter to decide what to show and what not

As said, yes.

If for dashboard you mean the “summary page”, no with the exception of a few parameters. This is not a BI a software. You can however through APIs connect for example to Microsoft Powerquery/BI and make your own dashboard.
Thanks a lot. If answers to my questions is in YES then i am honored and happy to appreciate my own decision of chosing MANAGER. Just wanted to avoid long route for getting desired results.
I am IN. Will start with desktop version and once all setup done and familiar with MANAGER functionalities WILL SURELY upgrade to cloud version in sha ALLAH.
By the way, does MANAGER has a test case site login ?
You can import a sample business: Import a sample business | Manager. But this does not, in its downloaded form, have every tab enabled or include every type of transaction. But you can do all that yourself, and it is an excellent way to learn the program.
I would do as suggested by @tut. Manager is very flexible and configurable, and every business is very different. If you have any doubt you have this forum which is the most active I’ve ever met!
there’s no way to batch create a chart of accounts, you have to enter it by hand
Manager supports only numeric codes (no letters or symbols) so I suggest you, as I do, to put them as a prefix of the names of the accounts
keep in mind that Manager has specific modules for fixed assets, inventory and so on… So you don’t strictly need an account for each of them since they are divided in the module. Maybe three levels are enough for you!
