I wanted to ask if there is benefit of updating ubuntu 18 to 20 (running server edition).

Manager will run well on 20.04 but also on 18. Its functionality does not change one bit. The Manager software ports to many different OS and is consistent in its use. So you do not have to update to 20 for Manager to work as expected.
