Dear,
Facility to add to view summery and other transaction as a Trend & Chart is to be added
Regards
Is it just eye-candy or would it actually solve some issue?
Trends can be very helpful to illustrate if urgent action is required to reverse a downward trend or if close attention needs to be given to an upward trend to ascertain what has caused it and be able to strengthen or maintain it.
I do that by using reports in Manager with multiple comparison periods. Then drill down on any figures of concern.
For my purposes intervals of 3 months (BAS reporting interval) or yearly works well. For shorter time frames, reports with relative dates would be a useful addition. Datepicker Defaults - Feature Request - #2 by Patch
I’m not convinced a graph would be better as I would loose easy drill down to investigate changes. Copy to clipboard to export to a graphing program is already supported. I’m not convinced there is any one variable everyone would want graphed.
@Tony, sure if used well they could provide useful and important insight. However, there is a danger to just look at trend lines and draw conclusions without understanding the data. For example assume there are one or more outliers that can positively or negatively influence the trend-line these may give an idea of failure or success whilst in reality these outliers need to be studied more carefully because they could be an error, a significant or one off event, etc. Without context and interpretation support they are at best eye candy.
As such, I always would advise to not have an automated generated graphical representation but one where you can determine, the scales, inclusion/exclusion of data, etc. Manager is excellent as data source but would recommend anyone to just import such data in a proper statistical package with graphics ability or at least use a spreadsheet’s graphical capability.
@eko, I can see your point of view. Manager may require an inbuilt graphing tool and the user qualified with a Bachelor of Science (Mathematics & Statistics)
