I am currently using version 26.3.6.3189 and am happy with what it does and am reluctant to do upgrade for fear of it changing what we do. Eg Saved Advanced query reports etc
I have also used theme enhancer to change the default invoice format to what I use for our Club.
If I upgrade to current version do I LOSE the enhanced invoice that I now have, or does it remain ?
Do I lose Custom Fields etc
What are any benefits of upgrading to latest version. Are they really going to be beneficial.
Can one run two versions of Manager on one desktop/laptop?
I recommend looking at bugs - Manager Forum before updating and see if any af those bugs affect your work flow etc.
I’m still running 24.10.14.1886 because it does everything I need.
There are a lot of new features that I like that have been introduced since then, but they are not necessary for my needs.
There are a lot of features that over complicate my use of the program.
There are certain things I have paid a developer for to get the program to where it suits me as far as html and liquid goes that would be wasted money with the latest releases and only cost me more money to get back up to speed.
I have tried various later versions since October 2024 and every time I have found that it is not necessary to my needs. Each time doing a full backup, full delete, new install and always back to a full delete and re-install of the old version.
As I said at the start, look at the bugs first and read through the forum topics. Then decide how adventurous you feel.
Just my 2c worth…
Yes, you can test out a new desktop version without removing your existing one. The appx download file is basically a zip file, so if you rename the file to .zip you can extract it to temporary folder to try out as Manager.io is stand alone. It is very important to make a copy of your data files first though as it will look for them in the same location as your existing ones and a new version may make changes to it. I will normally just make a copy and give it a .OLD extension although I do also have a separate backup anyway.
