Third Party Account Management

Proposal to add a simple optional process to special accounts.
This is done by selecting the control account as is currently the case, with the possibility of selecting another control account optionally if the account balance has a different sign.

For example, there may be an account with associate or subsidiary, and this account may have a credit or debit balance. In this case, it will be under a control account in a liabilities side (exmp: under the name of the creditor group companies), and an other control account can be used on the assets side (optionally) (under the name of the debtor group accounts).
and this account is transferred sometimes to the assets side and sometimes to the liabilities side according to its balance.
Note that these operations are widely used in companies that operate under the French system.

This is typically feature for group accounting (Main Business with Subsidiary businesses) and goes well beyond the use of Manager’s Division’s. Manager does not have any automation build in (search the forum why not) so it can not automatically switch between the suggested control accounts.

Although Manager allows for creating many businesses they are not interrelated (also search forum for discussions about these).

Talking about group companies was just an example.

I will give you another example.

I have a company that rents several properties with fixed monthly rents and irregular payments.

The lessors’ account is fixed on the liabilities side, but some have a credit balance and others have received multiple payments until their balance became a debit. In this case, the balance of some accounts is positive and others are negative.

But if the feature I mentioned exists, the lessors’ accounts are distributed according to their balances. For example, there is a control account on the credit side called rents due and another control account on the assets side called rents paid in advance.

As mentioned in my earlier reply, Manager can not automatically reassign balances between control accounts based on debit or credit.

I know that and what I mentioned is just an opinion if it can be developed in the future

This has been discussed many times. I think the title of this topic in not correct.
However what you want is not possible but there is a manual method and there is a guide for it.
Here explained with examples.
