Summery report Debit & Credit column

Dear team,

In the above image last transaction made on 18/01/2022 is made a Receipt of Payment made for Invoice, My doubt is when payment is received in Cash register will it not come in Credit column?
Amount received (Receipts) in Credit
Payments made (Payments) in Debit

Correct me if i am wrong.

If we are looking at a cash or bank account then:

• A receipt is a debit
• A payment is a credit

If we’re looking at a customer’s or a supplier’s account then:

• A receipt is a credit
• A payment is a debit

The two legs of a transaction mirror each other.
