I have been self-hosting ManagerIO server on ubuntu for years and have renewed my license each year (with a smile) because it’s great software and constantly updated. My install is updated very soon after new releases and I have always used the instructions from the ManagerIO website, which have always worked - Thank You!
With the last update I find it has failed with a suspicious difference between the file size of the .tar.gz shown in the Latest release on Github and the download file size. At the moment, release 24.2.21.1314 shows 61MB on Github while the download size is 52.72.
After updating, server does not work - I cannot reach it locally or over https.
I most likely made a mistake somewhere so after trying a few update cycles, I deleted the server and rebuilt with a clean install. Manager runs and it’s login screen reports version 22.3.74.
Did something burp?
Dalacor reports a 62mb file download which I get when I manually download from github.
Mark shows a 52.7mb file download using the “…/releases/latest/…” CLI.
My observation was that the latest release is the 62mb download size which you should get when using the typical CLI command - but you really get the 52.7mb download which is not the latest build.
My server is up and running with the latest release as I manually downloaded the latest build then installed it as usual.
I thought posting might save others some time by noting the difference in download file sizes for those who run their own instance and for those in the release process - maybe it was a mistake on the people side or maybe it was an issue with the github processes.
I have never seen this situation in the past so I felt a heads-up would be, well, helpful
