One of my charities is heavily dependant on General Ledger report. I don’t remember if that was always like this, but export of General Ledger (to clipboard/excel) report keeps CR/DR marks in cells and that is big downside as it is impossible to perform calculations on these cells (half cells are digits other half are mix of digits and CR/DR’s). A lot of manual work is required to clean that, convert it and do the extra checking not to make a mistake after the import. Here is the how situation looks like:
@lubos would it be possible to transform a General Ledger report that uses signs instead of CR/DR or at least can program do a conversion during the export (copying to clipboard)? The reason why accountants export data to Excel is to perform further calculations, and DR/CR notation is not playing to that favour.
