Projects time frames

HELP !! Can anyone tell me how (or if) I can Report on Projects for a specific period ?

I can’t seem to find anything as at the moment the Projects are reporting from software start date to present.

I’m using Projects for a Club that has the same Projects each year but are independent of each year. For example they run a shop as well as other annual activities. I was hoping I could use Projects as a “class” type thing to pull simple reports out of the P&L for different activities.

  • You can create a new project for each year and assign P&L entries to the matching Project fo that year: Project Name 2024, Project Name 2026

  • You can also use Custom Report under Reports:

This is a fairly crude query for 1 month of Project related entries.

Thanks so much for your ideas which I’ve just been playing around with!

I’m thinking using your Custom Reports suggestion might do the job- but I’d like a Net Profit figure to show which it’s not doing at the moment. I can get the relevant expenses/income figures totals but no Net amount - do you also know how I can do that ?

What else besides the Project income and expense need to be factored into the Net Profit amount?

I need to clarify that!

I want to print out the report to show the Projects net profit or loss to provide to Committee members.

If you separate the Project by year, the Projects tab will show you the profit, unless you want the Custom Report to show the profit, which I don’t know if it can.

Yes, I’m beginning to think it’s not possible so I will change to re-labeling the Projects for each year instead.
