If the Delivery Notes or Goods Receipts tabs are enabled, the Location field will be disabled. Goods shipments and receipts must then be entered with delivery notes and goods receipts to track inventory item quantities to their correct locations. Think carefully before enabling those tabs, because they impose considerable additional work.
So although the old guide is outdated and in essence we are now encouraged to use Delivery Notes and Goods Receipts the statement remains the same, i.e. when using these the Location field will be disabled in other forms.
Also note that only on Purchase Invoices you can select the location, when Acts as Goods Receipts is enabled on the form.
In a nutshell location is only selectable when goods are received or delivered, this can be through Goods Receipts and Delivery Notes, or Purchase Invoices and Sales Invoices where "Act as … " is enabled.
To be clear. You could either in the PO view screen select Copy to Goods Receipts (select location) or Copy to new Purchase Invoice (enable act as Goods Receipt and select location)
So, what i understood so far that in order to be able to reflect location in the PO view screen, i dont have to check on “also acts as good receipts” so the location can be added
However, this tab is not represented in the version I’m using for manager for both “PO” and “Purchase invoice” screen view
Please read my replies. There are no Locations related to PO and therefore Locations will not show on a PO view screen. The are related to delivery notes and goods receipts and I explained the options how to select them.
Manager advances very quickly, simplifying and adding features and capabilities. Sometimes, bugs occur with new releases. But these are usually fixed rapidly, often within minutes. So if you encounter a problem with the desktop or server editions, update Manager , even if you recently did. (The cloud edition is always up to date.)
