I am trying to open old file in new version of Manager on new hard drive
And?
I cannot open old files now that I have downloaded updated Manager on my new hard drive. The files are not the updated format. I saw it suggested that the old version be downloaded but I have not been able to do that. I am using Windows 10.
Can you furnish some more information
For example, what version did you upgrade from?
How old are the “old” files?
What version of Windows 10?
What message do you get, if any?
Just saying I have a problem is not particularly helpful
See
I do not know any version numbers. The version I had I downloaded in 2015. The version I just downloaded is the latest. The message is
This business database is not valid
Manager data is stored in SQLite database. However it appears the file you are attempting to open is not a SQLite database.
I would not expect current version to read a DB from 2015 - that is just too many versions ago
Following Patch’s advice to try downloading old versions might work but there have been thousands of updates since 2015
Hi @Patch do you have a link to download this version for mac please
Hi @Patch worked it out, just replace .msi with dmg
All versions are available at github. To browse versions see:
- Windows Releases · Manager-io/Manager.msi · GitHub
- Apple Releases · Manager-io/Manager.dmg · GitHub
- Linux Releases · Manager-io/Manager.AppImage · GitHub
For v20.9.89, the last version which converts old data files to SQLite database see:
- Windows Release Manager 20.9.89 · Manager-io/Manager.msi · GitHub
- Apple Release Manager 20.9.89 · Manager-io/Manager.dmg · GitHub
- Linux Release 20.9.89 · Manager-io/Manager.AppImage · GitHub
Actually enough people need instructions to upgrade old data files, that this should probably be in a guide, or at least the latter 3 links and what to do with them.
