Manager is falling behind

I’m making this post because I really appreciate Manager and hate to see it lose the competition.

I have been using Manager for more that 5 years now. Then I became a reseller of Manager in my country two years ago.

I will mention some key point that I believe are weak points of the program that makes users instantly look down on Manager after trying it.

  1. The GUI is outdated looking. While functional, the interface feels outdated compared to modern accounting software alternatives.
  2. Lack of a modern dashboard
  3. Lack of a native mobile app, making on-the-go access cumbersome. This is a significant limitation in today’s mobile-first business environment.
  4. Little room for improvement and customizations (since Themes and Extensions are Obsolete)
  5. Reporting options are quite limited and the custom reports feature is not thoroughly documented. The creation of own reports is only possible via exporting data to a spreadsheet. This significantly limits analytical capabilities for businesses that need detailed financial reporting.

Manager is a very well performing program but above points make it look weak and unappealing.

Edit: Typos

I agree. The interface become quite boring with these long list of accounts and figures. At least the summary page needs some colours and option for day or dark modes, charts etc.
I have alwayf found it quite not comfortable using mobile phone. Always have to scroll left right because of the screen size. Some changes will make the software very attractive. I love manager.io and its efficiency but some asthaetics will be ok for us.

@Kwame @BawarYassin I completely agree with your point

I cannot disagree,

however, for a FREE program it is great.

But I ask this…can you tell us a better one that exceeds your criticisms?

Program functionality is why I use it.

That’s important to me when buying new clothes or decorating my house but not what I look for in my accounting program.

I see zero value in that as do most other accounting vendors. Cloud access is used in it’s place to support the many phone types.
Personally I don’t do my accounting on a phone as multiple desk top screens provides a far more efficient interface for accounting.

see the new interface

that’s a fair observation
