I have tried to download the latest version of Manager for an Intel-based Mac (macOS v10.15.7) via the “Alternative download for Intel-based Macs” on Manager.io. The file that downloads (Manager-osx-x64.dmg) does not open on my Mac as the file/application requires macOS 12.0 or later and I have 10.15.7. Has the correct file for intel-based Macs been attached to the link on the Manager.io website?
I’m not familiar with whether you can upgrade Intel-based Mac to MacOS 12. It seems like new software will progressively make it more difficult to support intel-based Macs.
So there is no way to upgrade to Mac OS 12 for you?
I didn’t ask that question. I don’t want to upgrade an Intel-based Mac. Please re-read my question.
My question relates to the Maanger program file that downloads from your website. I need to access or download the version that works on Intel-based Macs. When I tried to download the Manager program file yesterday, it didn’t allow me to open it up. Do you still provide a Manager profile file that works on intel-based Macs?
Yes, I can see that. But when I click on the option to download the version for an intel-based Mac, I only get the version for the newer silicon chip Mac
(I presume), which isn’t compatible. Do you still provide a version of the software for intel-based Macs? Or is Manager now only compatible for the newer Silicon chip Macs?
Yes, that is the file that downloads when I click on “Alternative download for Intel-based Macs”.
Unfortunately, this file does not allow me to load on my Intel-based Mac.
Any ideas as to why this is or what I should do?
The response I get when I double click on the downloaded file is ..
“You can’t use this version of application “Manager.app” with this version of macOS. You have macOS 10.15.17. The Application requires macOS 12.0 or later.”
Manager does not run on Mac os 10.15.7 You require a Mac running 12.0 or later. There is no other mac alternative despite what you want to be possible.
No
Manager does not support the obsolete Mac os 10, you have to run 12 or more recent.
Intel Mac run macOs supported by Manager but APPLE have chosen not to support intel Mac with later versions of MacOs so that will effect future versions of Manager also.
Thank you. Finally an answer to my initial question. 5 messages from me and I now know the answer. I understand I have an old Mac (more than 12 years old but it’s still going strong). I plan to upgrade to a new Silicon-based Mac in the next 9 months once the new M5 chip is released.
I’ve been using Manager since 2013 so a long time and I hope to keep using this useful program. Thanks @lubos for making it possible.
