I was wondering if there is a way to hide top menu?

The title is abit too general, wouldn’t you agree? 
I say this because I think your only issue is with the “top menu”.
What do you mean by the top menu? A screenshot here would be worth a thousand words.
The top menu was changed because desktop edition now contains its own top menu with back button, reload button and tabs.
I agree that there is still some wasted space vertically. I have in mind how it should look like in the end but it cannot be implemented yet.
