Issue in Fixed Asset Summary when adding new fixed asset

When adding new fixed asset, it incorrectly recorded payment as profit in the Fixed Asset Summary.
Manager version 24.4.17.1441

Steps to rep:

  1. install new manager app (Mac)

  2. create a new business with basic setup

  3. create a new fixed Asset 1

  4. add a new payment, allocate to Account Fixed assets, at cost - Fixed Asset - Asset 1 $100

  5. add a new Report - Fixed Asset Summary

  6. in the report, Acquisition cost 100, Profit (loss) 100.00, Closing balance 200

  7. there was no relevant receipt transaction

manager backup file for analysis:

Please show the edit screen of the payment transaction

Avd the edit scree of the receipt transaction

updated with edit payment and manager backup file

updated receipt list and edit receipt screen. there was no relevant receipt transaction for the fixed asset.

The report date is the same as the payment date. Just edit the payment to a day earlier or wait until tomorrow. The figures then show correct.

However, I agree that @Lubos should look into this as in the unlikely event that someone generates the report on the day of making Fixed asset payments these could distort the report.

Thanks. But I think this is not an unlikely event. All new fixed asset entries in the reporting period were incorrect.

Please try this case.

  1. edit the payment to 22/01/2024
  2. edit the fixed asset summary period to From 01/01/2024 To 31/03/2024 to show the summary in 2024Q3
  3. add an new asset Asset 2
  4. create new payment on 01/03/2024 for Asset 2 $500
  5. open fixed asset summary, both entries were wrong

PS. looks like the Profit (loss) was associated to the data of Acquisition cost. Should be easy to fix.

Test with the reporting period set to the current financial year… ie. Date period for report set to say 01 Apr 2024 to 31 Mar 2025 or whatever your current FY may be. Does the report then appear correct?
